COVID-19 Policy

Coriell’s Science Fair team is working diligently to create a safe environment for all attendees. After two-years hosting the event in a virtual format, we are looking forward to welcoming participants in-person. In order to help keep our community safe, additional health and safety measures will be implemented.

On set-up day (March 18th), a limited number of people will be allowed to enter the gymnasium at a time. You should plan your set-up time accordingly. Our “busy” time is normally between 3:00pm - 5:00pm. Projects will be properly spaced out to account for social distancing. Everyone entering the building will be required to submit a COVID-19 Liability Release form (student forms must be signed by a parent/guardian and will therefore be due in advance of the event). Additionally, everyone who enters the building is required to wear a mandatory N95 mask. If you do not have one, Coriell will provide one. No other type of mask will be accepted.

On Fair Day (March 19th), only students, judges, and personnel necessary for the operation of the event will be allowed to enter the building. There will be no public viewing opportunities this year. Anyone participating who has yet to complete a COVID-19 Liability Release form will be required to do so. Mandatory N95 masks must be worn for the entire duration of the event (Coriell will have them available if needed). The awards ceremony will be held virtually this year. Stay tuned for additional details as the date approaches.

In addition to the steps being taken by Coriell, we ask that you help minimize the risk of spreading COVID-19 by following a few simple steps:

  • STAY HOME IF SICK
    • Participants should refrain from attending if they have been recently diagnosed with COVID-19, have recently had direct contact with an individual diagnosed with or suspected to have COVID-19, or are displaying symptoms commonly associated with COVID-19.
  • Wash your hands often
  • Avoid touching your face
  • Make sure your mandatory N-95 mask is covering your mouth and nose at all times
  • Avoid close contact while inside
