Neurodevelopmental Disorders

Childhood neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs) are a group of disabilities related to the functioning of the brain and neurological system.

The CIRM hPSC Repository contains hPSCs representing infantile epilepsy, cerebral palsy, intellectual disability, and ASDs. Subjects were recruited to capture the genetic diversity of the conditions and controls, some familial, are well matched in terms of diversity. Cells from the skin biopsy or blood sample collected from patients were reprogrammed using an episomal, footprint-free system. All samples are tied to extensive demographic, medical, and diagnostic information, including results from a comprehensive medical and cognitive assessment.
