Remarks |
Chinese hamster lung mutant cell line V-G8, derived from V79 (GM16136) by ethylnitrosourea-induced mutagenesis. V-G8 is unusually sensitive to killing by x-ray, bleomycin, and methyl methane sulfonate. It belongs to x-ray sensitive complementation group 8 and shows normal repair of DNA single and double strand breaks. V-G8 shows radioresistant DNA synthesis similar to that of human ataxia-telangiectasia cell lines. |
