Cell Lines

The Coriell Institute demonstrates excellence in cell culture technology, having developed gold standard practices in cell line establishment, cell characterization and cryopreservation. With more than a half century of experience  managing millions of vials of cells from an unparalleled breadth and diversity of human populations representing everything from presumed healthy controls through to the rarest genetic anomalies, you can trust us as your resource for cell culture services.

LCLs

Our lymphoblastoid cell lines (LCLs) have been established by Epstein – Barr virus transformation of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) using phytohemagluttinin as a mitogen.

Fibroblasts

Our fibroblast cell lines have been established using enzymatic digestion paired with a gentle, mechanical dissociation of the tissue. Due to the finite lifespan of these cells, passages are limited prior to cryopreservation to maximize the life of the cells after distribution.

FFPE

FFPE Scrolls can be used to extract DNA and in whole-genome sequencing and other genomic applications for pipeline validation and assay development.

Other

Coriell offers varied cell culture types including somatic cell hybrids, melanocytes, endothelial, epithelial, and others.
