GENE MAPPING & DOSAGE STUDIES - CHROMOSOME 17 |
FISH performed at the CCR with pooled probes for the Miller-Dieker critical region and chromosome 17 alpha satellite DNA consistently identified a human chromosome 17 lacking the Miller-Dieker critical region in this human/mouse somatic cell hybrid. PCR analysis of DNA from this somatic cell hybrid gave positive results with primers for 17p13.1, TP53, 17q21.3-q23, MPO1, 17q, GAS, and 17q25-qter, D17S784. |
|
Remarks |
Line Br-8; produced by the fusion of human cells from a pt with Miller-Dieker syndrome with TK-def Cl1D mouse cells; grown in HAT medium; retains human del (17)(p13.3) in 100% of cells & other human chromosomes {del(11) & #15} |
