Coriell Institute for Medical Research
EPILEPSY, FOCAL: WHITE
Catalog ID: NDPT109

This panel contains 5 micrograms of DNA/well from 93 unique and unrelated White non-Hispanic individuals from North America with focal epilepsy. Of these, 42 are males and 51 females, with an age range at onset from 1-61 years (2 samples have unknown age of onset). Two samples are duplicated as internal controls (ND04658, wells B05 and G11, and ND21986, wells E03 and F04), and one well contains TE and may be used for an additional laboratory control (H06).

Phenotypic data collected on these subjects consisted of Epilepsy Clinical Data Elements as outlined in the Coriell NINDS Genetics Repository guidelines. For each of the samples present in this panel the cause of epilepsy is unknown, and it is not associated with another neurological condition (e.g. mental retardation or a birth defect).

All samples and data were collected with informed consent under local IRB approved protocols. These samples are generously shared by Drs. Russell Buono, Dr. Ronald Devere, Dr. Anne Lindblad, Dr. William Logan, Dr. Jeffrey Noebels, and Dr. Terry Scattergood, Dr. Ronald Schwartz, and Dr. William Young.
