Remarks |
Holstein breed. The culture was initiated on 4/25/79 using cells released by collagenase digestion from the lumen of a thoracic aorta segment obtained from a fetus of approximately 18 weeks gestational age. The culture was passaged several times in 5% plasma-derived serum to prevent overgrowth by smooth muscle cells. The cell morphology is polygonal. The karyotype is 60,XY; normal diploid male. The culture tested negative for presence of bovine viruses BVD, PI-3, and BHV-1. Same culture at an earlier passage is AG07680B. The legacy karyotype description shown in this Remark may not be representative of the current available product. |
