| Remarks |
Holstein breed. The pulmonary artery was removed 30 minutes post-mortem on 3/1/89. Strips of the medial layer were removed, minced, and used as explants to initiate the culture. The cell morphology is fibroblast-like. The culture tested positive for alpha-smooth muscle actin and negative for the endothelial cell-specific von Willebrand factor (immunofluorescence assays). |
