Remarks |
Holstein breed. The carotid artery was removed immediately post-mortem from an adult of unknown age on 4/17/87. The culture was initiated 4 hours later using cells released from the lumen of the vessel by collagenase/ elastase digestion. The cell morphology is fibroblast-like. The culture tested positive for alpha-smooth muscle actin (immunofluorescence assay). Culture grows slowly. |
