Remarks |
The donor is a clinically affected member of a family with Alzheimer's disease. She had a 5 year history of severe dementia, decreased shortterm memory and decreased word finding ability. A brain biopsy confirmed the diagnosis. Fibroblast cultures from 2 affected sibs are AG04400A and AG04402A. The skin biopsy was taken ante-mortem. The culture was initiated on 10/17/80 using explants of minced skin tissue. The cell morphology is fibroblast-like. The karyotype is 46,XX with 6% of the cells examined showing random chromosome loss/gain. Culture grows slowly. The legacy karyotype description shown in this Remark may not be representative of the current available product. |
