Remarks |
Holstein breed. The thoracic aorta was removed 4 hours post-mortem on 4/18/85. Strips of the medial layer were removed, minced, and used as explants to initiate the culture. The cell morphology is fibroblast-like. The culture tested positive for alpha-smooth muscle actin and negative for the endothelial cell-specific von Willebrand factor (immunofluorescence assays). Other cultures from this cow are AG08130, AG08131A, and AG08132B. |
