Line LTSMC-3. A surgical specimen dissected free from the trachea of a New Zealand White rabbit was removed 5 minutes post-mortem on 7/14/88. Cells were released by protease/collagenase digestion for the primary culture. Cell morphology is epithelial-like. In vitro lifespan studies on this culture were halted at PDL 155. This culture may be immortal. The culture tested positive for alpha-smooth muscle actin (immunofluorescence assay). |
