Remarks |
Healthy octogenarian from Carloforte, a city on San Pietro, an island off the southwest coast of Sardinia, and from a population very largely originating in Genoa in the 18th century. This individual is not related to the other members of the Carloforte collection for two generations.The culture was initiated on 9/30/97 by transformation of lymphocytes with Epstein Barr virus. The culture grows in suspension and the cell morphology is spherical. The karyotype is 46,XY with 2% of the cells examined showing random chromosome loss. Follow up exam found donor subject alive and healthy at age 93. The legacy karyotype description shown in this Remark may not be representative of the current available product. |
