Remarks |
The donor had a history of progressive dementia with memory deficits, requiring hospitalization at age 62 years. A CT scan at age 59 showed nonfocal cortical atrophy. The skin biopsy was taken ante-mortem from the upper left arm. The culture was initiated on 1/20/83 using explants of minced tissue. The cell morphology is fibroblast-like. The culture is a mosaic with karyotype: 46,XY,9qh+/46,XY,9qh+,t(4;9)(4pter>4q21::9q34> 9qter;9pter>9q34::4q21>4qter); balanced; 44%/48%, and 8% of cells showed random chromosomal abnormalities.
