Culture Medium Information

For reference see: Morton, H.C., A survey of Commercially Available Tissue Culture Media. In Vitro 6: 89-108 (1970).

The code consists of an abbreviation of the culture media followed by a number, indicating the percentage of fetal bovine serum, and the letter "I" or "U". "I" indicates that the fetal bovine serum is heat inactivated at 56°C for 1/2 hour before it is added to the culture medium. "U" indicates that the fetal bovine serum is used without prior inactivation (not inactivated). The abbreviations are as follows:
