Cost-sharing Policy Reinstated for Samples in Aging Cell Repository

09/2018

Starting October 1, 2018, the National Institute on Aging will restore its cost-sharing policy with researchers regarding samples ordered from the Aging Cell Repository.

Scientists browsing the Aging Cell Repository will notice a new three-tier pricing system for all samples in the collection. The individual tiers will apply to NIA-funded investigator, non NIA-funded investigator, and industry/commercial.

In 2014, this cost-sharing policy for academic and nonprofit researchers was suspended because of a new interpretation of regulations governing such payments, but is being re-implemented on the basis of new regulations and NIH policies.

Questions regarding cost-sharing can be sent to NIA@Coriell.org.
