Identification of Rare Variants Linked to Increased Risk for Lung Cancer

An international consortium of research scientists used results from the 1000 Genomes Project to identify rare variants of large effect in BRCA2 and CHEK2 genes that can significantly increase an individual’s risk for lung cancer.
