Coriell's President and CEO, Dr. Michael Christman, was recognized as one of the region's top executives of the year by Southern New Jersey Business People Magazine.
The distinction places Dr. Christman in the company of some of the most prolific and successful business minds in the area, including Joseph Devine, president and CEO of Kennedy Health System; Dr. Ali Houshmand, president of Rowan University; and Denise Morrison, president and CEO of Campbell Soup Company.
Dr. Christman has brokered several significant milestones for the Institute within the last year, including the launch of Coriell Life Sciences, a for-profit spinoff venture that claimed IBM's 2014 "Entrepreneur of the Year" award, as well as the continued success of Coriell's personalized medicine alliance with the United States Air Force.
When asked by the publication to outline his business philosophy, Dr. Christman discussed the importance of developing an elite team of leaders focused on collaborating together. "Cultivate innovation and creativity by encouraging employees to be enterprising agents for change," he said. "You can do amazing things with a team of smart, dedicated people."
