Two South Jersey media outlets visited Coriell in July to speak with two Coriell Institute Summer Experience interns who also happen to be the grandsons of Dr. Lewis Coriell, our institute’s founder.
Each year, Coriell brings aboard eight students for the month of July andd lets them earn real world laboratory experience by working through each lab. While they are here, the students also research and give our staff a presentation on a topic they learned about during their internship.
NJ Pen and the Courier Post each visited Coriell in the last week of the Summer Experience to speak with Charlie and Peter Coriell about their internship, their shared passion for science, and what it means for them to learn the very lab techniques innovated by their grandfather.
“This hands-on experience would be totally beneficial for what I do, whatever career path I take,” Charlie Coriell said. “The knowledge I carry on will be great for the rest of my life.”
